The Verified badge

It means we checked who this person is.

That’s the whole claim. This page explains how we check it, and what the badge does not tell you.

What it means

Before anyone on PagePax can collect payments, we check their identity against their BVN and match it to the bank account their money goes into. If those don’t line up, they don’t get the badge and they don’t get paid through us.

What it doesn’t mean

It isn’t a review. It isn’t a rating. We haven’t inspected anyone’s products, tested their service, or checked their prices. A verified seller can still sell you something you don’t like, and a verified provider can still do a job badly.

The badge answers one question: is this a real, identifiable person who can be found? That’s a smaller claim than it looks — and it’s the one worth making, because it’s the one we can actually stand behind.

How it works

How it works

  1. 1They enter their BVN and the bank account they want to be paid into.
  2. 2A licensed verification provider checks the BVN and confirms the names match.
  3. 3Payments switch on, and the badge appears on their page.

What we keep

We don’t store BVNs.

The number goes to the verification provider, and what we keep is the answer — passed or not — and the date.

We also never hold anyone’s money: it settles straight from Paystack into the seller’s own bank account.

If something goes wrong

The badge doesn’t make a bad experience impossible. If a page on PagePax is being used to defraud people, report it — reports can suspend a page within minutes while a person reviews it.

Selling on PagePax? Verification takes about a minute, and it’s how your customers know you’re real.
